The last five months have been very rewarding here at HRA, with our team working to complete the design for the the Malaysia Resort and Retail Village. A project of this scale took our dedicated team many long hours to complete and the firm is proud to announce the design’s completion.
In this riverfront project, HRA’s final design featured a boardwalk that links a ring of shops, designed to resemble blocks of separate storefronts. Larger scaled buildings punctuating this route and are set back from the waters edge to create open plazas with kiosks and fountains. Within these larger buildings HRA designed the interior and public spaces. This level of integration was applied to the signage and lighting design to ensure that the themed experience remained consistent throughout the project. The firm worked closely with the landscape team and proposed the detailed design for two spectacular light and water shows within the projects two main lakes that link the landscape and the project’s buildings into a total themed experience. Construction for this project is already underway and the entire 52,000 sq. m. development is scheduled to be completed in late 2015.
The completion of this project builds upon the firm’s extensive expertise, with similar waterfront projects already completed in Dalian, Yantai, Lushun, Qingdao, Ningbo and Tianjin, China. You can review some of the projects in the firm’s master planning section of the website.
